NALC Branch 326 President Cara Neri's Message 4-10-2024

Greetings to all Branch 326 Members,

As many of you know, there is a highly anticipated Branch meeting tomorrow night. Unfortunately, I have COVID symptoms today and was advised to quarantine for 5 days. NALC Region 13 NBA Vada Preston will be chairing tomorrow's meeting at 7PM. My designee, Vice President Dennis Cherry, will be conducting the meeting with NBA Preston's assistance.

I will also have a Zoom Link and video equipment set up to broadcast the meeting live to all those who would like to log on.

I will have that Zoom link posted on the Branch Facebook and this Blog later this evening.

In my absence, I designate Vice President Dennis Cherry to be acting Branch 326 President. He shall assist Vada Preston in conducting the Branch meeting.

As many of you know, there is a Protective Order in place pertaining to myself and one other branch member named Mark Cypress. The Order of Protection specifically addresses the instances under which Mark Cypress and I may have coincidental contact, and a branch meeting is not specifically addressed in the order. In an abundance of caution, I have contacted the Petersburg Magistrate's office for guidance on this issue going forward.

In addition, I have currently suspended the following union officials pending Article 10 Charges  and Investigations:

Ashley Flowers

Christine Blowe

Yentel Young

Your current Shop Steward is now Lisa Montgomery. She was designated to fulfill the Shop Steward position temporarily, pending the result of the investigations of Article 10 Charges against Christine Blowe and Yentel Young.

I will be posting the additional local charges on this blog and sending the link for members to access each entry on the Branch Facebook Page. These charges will be read aloud in the next union meeting tomorrow night at 7PM at 22 W. Washington Street, Petersburg, VA 23803.

Please stay safe and be healthy!

Sincerely,

Cara Neri
NALC Branch 326 President
